<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">SECOND GOOD VISION HABIT: SHIFTING OF THE EYE...<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> (I like this one:)

...The shifting of the eye with normal vision is usually not conspicuous, but by direct examination with the ophthalmoscope it can always be demonstrated. If one eye is examined with this instrument while the other is regarding a small area straight ahead, the eye being examined, which follows the movements of the other, is seen to move in various directions, from side to side, up and down in an orbit which is usually variable. If the vision is normal these movements are extremely rapid and unaccompanied by any appearance of effort. The shifting of the eye with imperfect sight, on the contrary, is slower, its excursions are wider, and the movements are jerky and made with apparent effort...

...The shorter the shift the greater the benefit; but even a very long shift - as much as three feet or more - is a help to those who cannot accomplish a shorter one. When the patient is capable of a short shift, on the contrary, the long shift lowers the vision...

...One of the best methods of improving the sight, is to imitate consciously the unconscious shifting of normal vision and to realize the apparent motion produced by such shifting... Perfect sight is impossible without continual shifting, and such shifting is a striking illustration of the mental control necessary for normal vision. It requires perfect mental control to think of thousands of things in a fraction of a second; and each point of fixation has to be thought of separately, because it is impossible to think of two things, or of two parts of one thing, perfectly at the same time. The eye with imperfect sight tries to accomplish the impossible by looking fixedly at one point for an appreciable length of time; that is, by staring. When it looks at a strange letter and does not see it, it keeps on looking at it in an effort to see it better. Such efforts always fail, and are an important factor in the production of imperfect sight...
Or in gneral too much close looking activities. I wouldn't agree. Since I started natural vision training and removed my glasses I have learnt to look into my computer without strain. that has enabled me to have more relaxed eye movements on the screen. Later I got 2 screens and had even more chance to make my eyes dancing accross all different objects and information o screen.
For example, I can be comparing two tables of data, let's say excel tables. Or looking into a code and then into a final form design, back and forth, switching windows or looking left=-right into two screens. If you don't relax your movement, if it is stiff of course you will get a headacke.
Or, take some sportist, say ballet dancer, if they are stiff and straining they will end up in poor perforamnce and lots of pain.
The same is with eyes, they need freedom from strain and then they will see everithing for you!
eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-7528630783794284042011-12-28T23:54:00.000+11:002011-12-28T23:56:26.585+11:00Living in a box In addition to discussion about using your eyes, let's ask why is in recent times the need for wearing glasses so much increased? Why is that our grand and grand grand -mums and -dads didn't need so much glasses didn't need so much glasses as we do today.

I would suggest that it is different life style. As the mostly need is for shortsightedness that talks about our inability to see distances. And really, if you compare how often we need to look into long distances vs. short distances, the proportion is opposite with our predecessors. They have had much more situations to look into distances, being village people working in a field or with cattle, spending longer ours in nature. IN nowadays we spend much more time in apartments and rooms, work in offices, and in general tend to be much more inside. We work on computers, watch TVs or play games or read books, that is all short distances seeing.
There is still another dimensions why are we more contracted and shortsighted then our predecessors - the level of anxiety that makes us somehow unwilling to see and relax and stretch our eyes is much higher today then how our grand' lived.eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-21561420198150551852011-12-06T20:38:00.001+11:002011-12-28T23:29:13.357+11:00Use it or lose it Take it this way: if you don't use your eyes, then they can't develop, if talking about early years, or they will deteriorate.
It is the same as with any other part and organ in our body. Look for example in muscles training. If you want to have strong and pumped up muscles then you don't sleep or watch the TV all day long, but you go in gym to exercise the muscles, those you want to develop. If you want to make stronger arm muscles you would lift weights. Meaning you regularly use those muscles, activate them, you repeat these operations, and as the time goes - what happens - they became stronger, nicely formed, etc...
Another example is learning. We all know that we have to repeat newly learned knowledge if we want to remember it, otherwise we forget. So, as long a we go back and repeat some learned knowledge we will know if. For example you learned in maths how to calculate area of the 2D shape, if you don't repeat this some required number of times, you will most probably not know it until you go and learn the theory again (or someone tells you - that is the same as learning the first time - this time can be just quicker).
The same I would say with eyes, if you don't try how do I see close, distance, left-right, up-down, etc then you just can't see properly, the object seen will be blurred.
With trying the brain makes connections. As I see the eyes function it is constant feedback cooperation between eye as organ and brain. If brain didn't see the object properly it will send another command to the eye to change shape - whether for closer or further viewing.. etc. until brain is OK with what it has seen.eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-45184931902146915542011-04-21T01:16:00.000+10:002011-12-28T23:37:54.301+11:00Check Your Feelings and ThoughtsNatural Vision Improvemnt is supporting standing that reason for function vision problems is in stress and strain. Stress is condition produced by many negative feelings we have on more permanent basis, so therefore in most cases we are not even aware of it. Eventually, we consider our stressed state as normal and in that case is very hard to release that stress and have our vision improved.

As there is many different emotion behind that stress it is good idea to employ psychology in your vision improvement. On this plan I liked Janet Goodrich's work. Her basic classification is that specific emotion are causing specific vision problem.
Shortsightedness - fear of future;

Farsightedness - fear of present and escape in future, also anger;

Astigmatism - not willing to see some aspects of self, fear;

Strabismus or crossed eyes - anger.

And it is good to know that behind each emotion is thought. You must be having some thought to be producing fear, for example, - fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, or like this "I wouldn’t be good at this job", I can't make it, I am not good enough.

I am actually having beautiful book in my hands, by Louse Hay, You Can Heal Your Life, - thanks Louise for writing this amazing book - where she actually very clearly explains how thought is behind emotions and then behind your bodily problems or illnesses. She explains that in essence you should start learning to love yourself, to approve yourself, in terms to stop fearing of future, of failure, to stop criticizing your self and belittle yourself. I remember seeing OPRAH also recommending to look yourself in mirror and say "I love you", and many other speakers like her are recommending this method. Because that is the nature of mind or unconsciousness, it believes what you are telling it.

Here is how it works: In your mind you are constantly though to yourself saying to yourself "I never can do this good", "I should have known this" "I should do better" then you are telling to your mind not to do good. And it really happens that you do not perform well, and other criticize you a lot. If, for change, you start approving yourself, I am good at it, I know exactly how to do it, I am creative, I am supported by my colleagues, then work is done better and everyone supports you. Don't believe yet? Well, try catching your deep thoughts and then replacing negative with positive.

Louise is nicely describing vision problems with not willing or fearing to see something as is and is recommending some very useful positive affirmations that you can start telling yourself on daily basis. I noticed for me worked this one "I approve myself". It released my strain instantly and I felt more light around me immediately!

...AND A WORD FOR SCEPTICS

If you think it is hard to believe all this about stress in Natural Vision Improvement it is exactly mostly because you believe what you have been told. They told me I have to wear glasses and there is nothing else I can do, and I was doing exactly that. Even when I was noticing improved vision in periods when being without glasses either if I was frustrated in my teens, or if I had broken glasses. I knew it improves but I also listened that I have to wear glasses. Now, when I started telling myself "I can see well with my own eyes" I am improving vision in natural way and am even learning much more about how vision affects thinking and learning processes, but also health in general. So, mind really believes what you are telling it, and the resulting actions will be mirror of that story, disease or prosperity and wealth.
Therefore, the key in achieving clear vision in natural way is by – RELAXATION. The main activity that Dr. Bates had developed is PALMING. That is holding and relaxing your eye muscles under palms of your hands.
The science behind palming is this: if the eyes are completely covered so no light is entering the optical nerve is not stimulated and complete darkness should be seen, black.
If you have some sparkling – like I do – even when you cover your eyes, that means you have some mental activity that is stimulating optical nerve, producing electrical signals. This now falls into neuroscience area, and those professionals would be more helpgul. But anyway, at plain human level it is easy to understand.
The other aspect of strain as reason for poor vision is that some or all of those 6 external surrounding eye muscles are under some kind of tension, producing the eye to be in unusual shape that cannot bring light into correct cells. These tensions are believed and proved to be reduced by action of PALMING.
HOW TO DO PALMING:
find some good sitting position for you. Put your elbows on table or pillow. Cover your eyes by palms of your hands. The fingers usually overlap on your forehead. Make sure there is no light coming thru hands. Eyes are closed behind the palms. You stay in this position 5, 10 or 20 minutes. There is a lot you can do to make this time more pleasurable and desirable, by playing soothing music, or being in the dark. You can also be in laying position with hands over your eyes. Also, try to make the posture as much comfortable as possible.
So, as simple as that PALMING has brought clear vision to thousands of people or at least helped in natural vision improvement.
How is my experience, you might ask. Well, I fall into the 10% dr. Bates has discovered that experience increase of stress while palming. Only 5 minutes is enough, after that the stress increases. What I actually see is like snowing on TV and when I uncover the eyes I see everything very foggy and takes time (a few seconds though) to get clear picture of surroundings.
However, PALMING is helping most of people. Or can give you an idea how much it is important to relax your eyes.
Let’s explain now what strain are we talking about. That is some bad or heavy thought that will make you squint, or tighten your face muscles, around your eyes, pressure on your nose. You have probably noticed when you are angry about something or somebody your jaw is clenching. Or in fear you can’t speak as your voice goes blocked. Or after long hours of computer work the neck and shoulder muscles become very stiff.
Office work at the desk or at the computer is at lot risk to fall into this kind of stress. This is due to long hours of focus into your work, you don’t move, even you can have bad chair or are taking bad position at your desk. It all creates lots of stress on your eyes.
Did you know that eyes are helping into balancing your body, so if your posture is at some angle and eyes are following by distorting, this is known cause for astigmatism.

At the end I will add that knowing energies of the body eye produce or transmit high levels of healing energy. That means hen you are palming there may be some calming and feeding energy coming from the hands and energizing the eyes.

Start PALMING today. The best therapy is do 10 minutes of palming in the morning and in the evening. Especially in the evening before going to sleep it will help you calm down and reduce stress from the day and have better sleep.

And keep us informed how is that going, please do add comments!eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-30860022434843261742010-11-18T00:16:00.000+11:002011-12-28T23:40:50.018+11:003Cups Accommodation Exercise - Part2There is a good reason I find this exercise important. And that explains how is it possible that after a set of say 30 or 50 moves I see clearer and when I look around the colors are stronger, there is more shine and of course clarity.
It is because these exercises are forcing us to do consciously
movements that are supposed to be happening all the time when we are using our eyes, hopefully is all waken part of the day.
Which are they, you might ask! Well, the answer is convergence and divergence.
The definition is this:

What is converging/diverging?The axes of eyes. Both axes of left and right eye need to cross in the focus point in order to see the point clear

What are axes?Axes are straight lines that are passing thru horizontal surface thru the pupils of the eye and thru the centre of the pupil.
To move axes we use extra ocular muscles.

Seeing closeTo see object close axes need to converge or cross.

Seeing distanceTo see objects in the distance the axes diverge or open to go more parallel.

In blurred vision...axes are not crossing in the focus point.
In addition,

Nearsighted or shortsighted person (seeing close and having blurred distance objects)
instead of diverging their axes are converging (this is what I noticed my eyes are doing)

Farsighted or longsighted person (seeing distance objects but not seeing close)
they are unable to converge or cross eyes, they are unable to cross eyes enugh close to see close object clearly, that's why they tend to move image further away from their face and sometimes it's being said - the arms are just not long enough (this especially in presbiobia or aging reading problems)

Crossed eye or strabismusmy thinking is that as their axes actually cross in opposite direction, behind the head instead in front of the face, so therefore the functions of converging and diverging of axes is completely distorted.

There are some other processes that I noticed are happening together with moving axes to and against, there are some additional messages that brain is receiving and sending to and from eyes, but I'll discuss it in next blog.
Just to add, when viewing these 3D images or stereograms along with moving axes there is additional operation that is happening in order to create the hidden image (or third image in the middle with stereograms) and that is mental sliding of attention along the axes. That is exactly that function that is moving force to make us do these movements of convergence and divergence.
And then it functions as every muscles work out, what we exercise becomes more and more natural instinctive function. The one thing is with all these functional vision problems that there is impulse from the brain is there but muscles are too weak to make the movement.
Or, the other thing is that the brain commands are confused - as I mentioned instead of diverging they converge.
My recommendation for exercise from all this discussion:

One to three daily sessions of 50 converge-diverge exercises or 10 mins

Doing this with the image in all angles:

directly in front of the eye

up

down

left

right

diagonally (up-left, up-right, down-left, down-right)

Every session is good to be followed by 5-10 mins palming

And don't forget not to strain. Do this in relaxed and effortless manner. If you just do 2 mins once a day it's still fine. Have fun!eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-66988750624455330892010-10-20T01:44:00.000+11:002011-12-28T23:41:14.812+11:003Cups Accommodation ExerciseThere is a good exercise that I learned from a few NVI teachers and when I finally learned how to do it I noticed it does big good for me. I was seeing clearer.
This is about seeing 3D images, if you have ever had a chance to hear about them, but without 3D glasses. There are some available on market. Some are called stereograms, some are hidden images.

The trick is
that you actually converge and diverge your eyes in order to see the image. Easy NVI picture to start learning this is shown here:

When you are converging/diverging eventually should see the third set of circles formed in the middle.

This is happening because your focus is not the same where your mental picture is formed. In case of convergence your focus (eye axes crossing point) is in front of the picture, and opposite, when diverging your focus is behind the picture.

There are techniques to teach you how to converge or diverge. The goal is to do it consciously and effortlessly. The main point here is to not strain. You can mix this say 10 or 50 convergence / divergence movements and then a few minutes of palming, or even you can add sunning.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONVERGENCE

You can learn to converge by starting looking into your finger put on top of your nose. Then slowly move the finger away from the nose, towards the picture. Then sometime the third circle will show up in between these two. And the image will have strong three dimensional feeling. And the smaller one will look like poping out of the picture.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DIVERGENCE

You can put your nose almost on the screen, having your eyes looking like in distance far behind the PC, Then slowly move your head away from screen by trying not to change the focus. Slowly will mentally notice the third circle formed in the middle. The small circle will look like deep down in the picture.

In both cases the two SEEING should line up. Practice sliding them left-right. It is all learning how to consciously pull the external eye muscles to form wanted picture.

The final image should look something like this.

And don’t forget to do this effortlessly. You shouldn’t be experiencing any pain. As soon as you do, which is possible particularly for people with poor vision as their eye muscles are more stiff, any pain felt just stop relax yoru eyes, do palming or continue tomorrow.

Any questions very welcome!eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-52043164169387839332010-07-15T00:26:00.000+10:002011-12-29T00:00:31.154+11:00The Eye Structure and Functions

Before going to do eye exercises it is good idea to try to understand the parts of the eye and the way they function together to create vision.

This is the basic picture of the eye with its parts.
The light rays reflecting from the object being seen are passing thru cornea, pupil, lens is further refracting the light under additional angle depending on its thickness. The light ray then travels thru the gelatinous clear mass inside the eye and falling onto the retina. The picture created here is
Then retina’s cells are passing the information to the optical nerve that is then connecting with the vision centre in the brain. It is located at the back of our head. The information in the brain is turned upside-down again so we know the right image of the object being seen.

This is I think what most of us have learned in primary/secondary school, it is basic knowledge of the eye that you could not missed in case you haven pursued further medical / biological or similar studies to learn more.

In addition to this basic knowledge, there are a few functions of the eye that are important for everyone to know if one is willing to help her/him self to maintain or improve good eyesight.

First, I will describe how is eye managing to see objects on different distances.
I learned this from Dr. Bates, who did foundation for this Natural Eye Training that I am following. I also understand that this is main difference in official optometry and Dr Bates’ teaching. And I felt it true in doing recommended exercises that are addressing this.

So, what is it about: The eye enables seeing objects on different distances by changing it’s form.
The official optometry holds thinking that the only part of the eye that enables distances is lens, and that the lens is being thickening or flattening.
In general this function of the eye is called accommodation. The natural vision practice follows Dr Bates’ views that the whole eye ball changes shape to enable accommodation. And it is done in this manner:
o In order to see close objects it elongates
o In order to see distant objects it shortens

Dr Bates has done a lot of experiments on animals to prove this. And also exercises addressing this function have proved by improving patients’ vision.
That means when you have poor vision the eyeball is not changing it’s shape in natural vision to enable clear seeing of objects.
§ Near-sightedness (myopia)
The objects close are seeing clear – the eye can elongate
The objects in distance are blurry – the eye can not shorten
§ Long-sightedness (hyperopia)
The objects close are blurry – the eye can not elongate
The objects in distance are clear – the eye can shorten
eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-86645935655906334932010-07-15T00:23:00.000+10:002011-12-29T00:00:59.783+11:00You can start your vision improvement nowThat’s true. Whether you have good vision and want to improve it or you are wearing glasses, you can start helping correcting and improving your seeing now.
It doesn’t matter what your dioptre is.
It doesn’t matter how big your number in diopter is
It doesn’t matter how old you are.
It doesn’t matter how long have you been wearing glasses,

It’s all the same if you are a little child or middle-aged or pensioner.

All it matters is to let the eyes see, allow the world around you to come to you.
Let the light reflected from the objects around you be perceived by the eye.
Let the eye to see, literally.
Because the main reason we have poor vision is our strain.
You are free to do anything you can think of or you already know to relax your eyes.

Things to do right now
1. Massage your face
2. Eat healthy food & drink plenty of water
3. Exercise regularly
4. Do a few basic eye exercises mentioned here that best suit you
5. Be your own psychologist or make an appointment with one to improve your feelings about yourself and the world around you
Some affirmations like “I can see” and “I love the world around me” can really be helpful.
6. Reduce your diopter if you are wearing glasses. You do not need to have very perfect and clear vision with glasses on, you can have lesser degree of glasses (whatever they are) and allow some space for eyes to also take part in the process of seeing.
7. If you forgot to stretch and yawn then start doing it, it helps relaxing the eyes

Good vision habits1. Breathe & Blink
2. Drink plenty of water
3. Every time when doing some work with focusing close for longer times even, look into distances. This will enable muscles around the eye to relax and improve the circulation thru the eye which bring clearer vision.
4. Move your eyes a lot around the object you are looking into, it bring more images to the brain who collects the lots of information and combines the signals into a final picture.eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1337145017708898426.post-62104508423050935572010-07-14T23:54:00.000+10:002011-12-29T00:05:21.917+11:00Natural Vision Improvement
Did you know that you do not have to wear glasses if you have poor vision?
Just a couple of years ago I didn’t as well and was wearing glasses and contact lenses for 33 years. But after I found out about Natural Vision Improvement I said NO to glasses and started the efforts to improve my eyesight naturally.

What did I achieve, you would ask. Well, after a year I did an eye test for driving at my driving authorities and I passed. They removed my condition for aided vision from driving license and I am not required by law to wear glasses meaning I have good enough vision for driving.

Why did nobody tell me before?
Well, I have heard on a few occasions before throughout my life about natural vision improvement (I like to use the NVI abbreviation for this term), but have totally ignored it. You know how the world mostly is, the knowledge about any natural healing is limited, it is being ignored and mostly respected are highly educated professionals, among them optometrists, and I would rather be shoulder to shoulder with them and follow what they recommend and all is scientifically rpoved. But, also nowhere near me was there anyone with knowledge or experience in NVI, so it’s normal I had been “happily ” wearing my glasses and feeling very cool about it.

I saw a show on TV and it was very interesting, people were talking about their experiences of successfully fixing their sight naturally but I said I’ll think about this later.
Then, one day I occasionally asked my optometrist about natural vision improvement, as I also now had my son 4yo diagnosed to wear glasses and she wrote a name on a piece of paper: “Dr. Bates”. She said he was also Dr. Ophthalmologist, who lived 100 years ago, who thru his practice found out how to help people in natural way. She said I can try to do a research myself if I am interested. The most important thing is that she new and she is not hiding it!
I didn’t do the research straight away, being myself also skeptical, but a few months later. Then, it started rolling. I can’t explain enough my feelings in that first period. I was a stunned, overwhelmed. I was very eager to find out more, to try to understand better, to prove practically on my eyes…. Because, it is so simple and IT WORKS.

What is the NVI based on?
All is based on Dr. William Bates’ teaching. He found out that the main reason for poor vision in otherwise healthy eye is strain. And by removing that strain the vision can be improved to normal. Dr. Bates had his practice in New York, at abut 1900 till 1930 and you would assume had troubles with official medicine because of this. But he helped a lot of people and proved his theory correct. He also wrote a book and it is available on line for free.

My goal
I red his book and built my basic knowledge about vision, how it works and how it can be helped naturally from his book. And there are many other books available about natural vision improvement. Since I realized how simple it is and saw it works on my eyes I can’t stop asking myself “Why is noone telling us this?” And I have developed deep feelings about helping people with poor vision. I also know how hard decision was it for me whether to enter this training or not. At the time I somehow started feeling in my heart that what Dr Bates is saying in his book is true. And I know how lonely I was in those days. There was no example around me, no one as a reference. I just had to believe to my intuition. Eventually, whenever I saw someone wearing glasses I would approach and present this natural option. I cannot stop talking about it. And every time I ask myself “This is too much, I am becoming boring” there is a counter feeling that I have “to spread a word”. Especially for children or those with children.
So, simply said I want to tell you that natural vision improvement is real and really works. And is simple and natural. It is learning to use your eyes in natural, effortless way.

Take it this way:
You are born with physically healthy eyes and you have not learned how to use your eyes correctly so you are not getting clear picture about the world around you. Then you find a person with good vision and start analyzing how do they use their eyes so you can copy and improve your vision.
In reality no one knows how exactly their eyes do it. Dr. Bates researched this and presented his discoveries for us to learn and use. I thank him for that and feel the call to help now this theory to live further and fly among humans as a tool and help them live their best lives, because as you will see later (if you do not already know or do your research before I manage to present it here) how we see is in close connection to how we feel and think.

Dr. Bates knewI am very eager to help everyone who is wiling to be helped with my knowledge that I collected in last almost 2 years about vision improvement. I have charts on my walls at home, I learned how to use them. I also love 3D images which use in vision improvement I will explain in more details. And that is very common for people that improved their vision, particularly when the general culture is still trying to hide this from you. Dr Bates also noticed that everyone that improved their vision is teaching his family and friends. Children had thought their parents and siblings… because it’s that simple. And brings multiple benefits.
eNVision_Clearhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06249931675612647995noreply@blogger.com0
